****Parents, as I have collected some of the assignments that are done through our new math textbook (online), several students are not completing them.  This will result in a “no assignment handed in” and a zero.  Please encourage your student to complete them.  I usually give class time.  However, some students need more time to complete at home. **********

 

Math: 

Monday:  Daily Review: Minute math lesson 1  (we will use dry erase pockets, then place answers on computer or notebook paper)

               Text pg 34-36  Lesson 1.6 LCM

               Using notes page again discuss the difference between the GCF and LCM.

               Use prime factorization to find a quick way to find the LCM.

                               Activity- 1 discuss and work with a partner

                               Activity 2 and 3, show how they work to help find LCM

                                            

Tuesday:     Daily review: Minute math lesson 2

                  Text pg 37-39

                  Please remind your student to ask questions.  

               LCM lesson assignment                               

                 

Wednesday:     Daily review:  multiplication facts drill 6s

                       Text pg 40-41

                      1.6 extension – adding and subtracting fractions

                      ***understanding why we need to be able to find LCM***

                      Common denominators

                      pg 41 – even #s 2-16   

                    

Thursday: Daily review: Minute math lesson 3             

              Text pg 42  Helpful hints, discuss, do the review in the text book.  

              Pg 43  #1-10, 

                          11-16,

                         18-28 EVEN numbers – solve using method most comfortable with

                         29-32

               

Friday:  Daily review: multiplication drill 7s

           Remind students to ask questions.

           Review for test on Chapter 1 – Monday.  

            IXL – complete the recommended skills plans.  

            

       

Reading For Pleasure

Monday:  Read aloud to class – Counting by 7

              each day we will summarize and make predictions on what will happen.  Trying to encourage comprehension.

              Read together as a class:  Where the Red Fern Grows   

                                                                                                            

Tuesday:  Read aloud to class – Counting by 7s - Discuss and summarize

              **** If the students need study hall time, we will do it today*******

                Read together as a class:  Where the Red Fern Grows   

                                                     Encourage more discussion and questioning of the story

                                                     Illustrate a series of pics /timeline of events happening.

Wednesday: Read aloud to class –  Counting by 7s - Discuss and summarize

               Discuss, question

Thursday: Read aloud to class –   Counting by 7s
